WHAT ARE MICROGREENS?

Microgreens are tiny edible vegetables harvested at an early stage of the growth cycle. Microgreens may be small, but they are a real taste experience.

In addition to the taste, Microgreens are distinguished by their high nutrient density (vitamins, dietary fibres, iron, minerals and essential oils, etc.), about 40% more than adult vegetables.

Depending on the variety, microgreens have an average growth time of 8 to 25 days and reach a size of 5 to 9 centimetres.

WHAT ARE MICROGREENS USED FOR?

As garnish: Microgreens are ideal as garnish for almost any dish. The colourful varieties such as the Amaranth Cress and Red Mustard add a touch of colour to soups, salads, sandwiches, hors d’oeuvres and desserts.

As a salad: Microgreens are the star of the plate! Great as a garnish but even better as the main ingredient in salads. There is an unlimited variety of combinations of varieties and flavours to experiment with.

In sandwiches, burgers and wraps:  Microgreens are ideal instead of salad in sandwiches. They are a fantastic addition to vegetarian/pita sandwiches, and can even be used in burgers and wraps.
