Basil is the typical spice of summer cuisine: caprese, salads, pesto, pasta – basil brings southern flair to the plate. Basil Shiraz, the red variety, is becoming somewhat rarer but increasingly popular.

Basil has fascinated people since ancient Greece because of its unique and aromatic scent and its many uses in the kitchen and for health.

The intense red leaves of basil SHIRAZ give drinks a sweet, fresh note and harmonize with cheese, potatoes, sweet vegetables and beef. The red basil cress adds a splash of color to desserts and gives fruits a fresh, sweet note.
